TRUCKEE RIVER

Sometimes I long for a visit to the ocean,
with its beautiful seashore, the tides
rushing in, and the sounds of the waves
taking me to another place.
Having lived in the high deserts of a
Sometimes desolate land,
leaves a hunger and thirst for the
endless miles and its balmy waters.
And then, after the long cold winter
And an unusual wet May, I braved it,
and looked for something beautiful
In this landscape, and found myself
At the Truckee River flowing through
The city of Reno in Nevada. I think this
Picture captures the beauty, with the
contrasting colors of the Sierra
mountains in the background.
