
Having lived in many mining towns, I have had
experiences you probably would not have had living
in any other place. These towns required roughing it,
with dust storms, snakes and coyotes.
Before going to bed at night we would always check
our beds for scorpions and spiders. These experiences
began a series of books relating many stories of a
child and her ability to live amidst hardships and danger.
