BECAUSE YOU HAVE DONE THiS, UPON YOUR BELLY YOU SHALL CRAWl
It was a beautiful creature
But became corrupt
“Because you have done this,
Upon your belly you must
Crawl, of the earth eating its
Dust
Looking back one more time
Adam and Eve wept, on that
Very day the gates were shut
The once hushed air blew
With a gust of wind,
Their bodies wrapped in
Animal skins
Clouds surfaced in the sky
Sun erupting with shining light
Darkness struck by a half
Moons sty
With blistered hands
Thorns and thistles,
From no rain, the earth’s crust
Dried
A touch of lust, a son was born
The earths first cry of a mother’s
Pain
Cain became a tiller of the soil
A second son was conceived
Abel, a keeper of the flock
Of Abel’s sacrifice God was
Pleased
Cain became angry, drunk
With hate
With a spade struck his brother
Secretly placing him in a grave
God questioned
“What have you done, what did
You do with your brother?”
“Am I my brother’s keeper”
Cain replied
But Abel’s body was not
Found his blood crying from
The ground
Then Eve gave birth once more
Naming him Seth, for God
Gave a seed of comfort,
Instead of the seed of Cain,
Who murdered her son…
