Oh fair Eve, the woman God gave Adam to be,
veiled in light and beauty to the eye.
A Voice was heard
“Of every tree in the garden you may eat
but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat”
Of the forbidden tree she crept
Not heeding the warning
plucking the fruit
in sorrow and tears she wept.
The once divine seed now a noxious weed.
Eternity ceased and time began
a cooling chill across the land.
The dove’s peaceful coo, now
her woeful cry too soon.
The wily serpent’s cloven
tongue, pricked her heart
breaking in two.
His sinister voice followed close behind
as she ran and ran,
Where was her dear Adam then?
