Sabbath Lullabies

GOOD FRIDAY EVENING!

“Baby is drowsing, cosy and fair, mother sits near in her rocking chair
and though baby sleeps he hears what she sings”
Lullabies and sweet songs drift in his memories

I wonder if there are others
who lacked the childhood stories and
songs that brought contentment and
peace to a child’s mind, giving
memories of hope
for challenges later in life?

In our lives there were only comic books
to read, but there was not much to laugh
about in our many homes, and while
nightmares pursued us and sweet
dreams were denied us we were not
forgotten!

The Sabbath hours can be a time to reflect
on stories and songs, creating the peace that was
missing in our lives.

We are promised a new song shall be
placed in our hearts, one of comfort and joy!
