‘A Silent Spring’
“A Spring without voices”
- Words by Rachel Carson
In recognition of her book
‘Silent Spring’ (1962) bringing
awareness of environmental
issues destroying our earth!
What would it be like to
walk out on a spring morning
with a silent sky and seas
void of life? And only quietness?
A very long time ago the earth
was free, each flower and
tree in their simplicity
The birds in flight the seas
teeming with life
The flow of streams watering
creation
with living grass, soil and clay
But it didn’t stay that way!
And began to decay
A feud in the great surge of
existence
screaming to be freed and
set at liberty!
But what does this mean
for you and I?
Like ropes of sand sometimes
it seems beyond our efforts
as we see creatures destroyed
Can we really say
“Happy Earth Day”
as it cries for help laboring in
birth pains waiting to be saved?
But we are not forgotten in
this mystery hard to understand!
For into His hands much
stronger we stand

WE are saved by HOPE – FOR one day we will SAY

Happy Birthday Earthππ
YOU HAVE BEEN RESTORED!
