The gate once open, slowly closed that day

Number 13 in an ongoing series

Visiting the garden, God called Adam, but there was silence,
and then calling again Adam answered “We were afraid and
we hid.”
Did God cry when He searched for His children, just as we
do, when we come home to the silence of a child missing,
snatched away by the enemy, never to return? Does He
understand the anguish we feel? As a Father does He miss
His children as we also?
Angels were sent to close the gates that day, and Adam and
Eve were sent away, but never would God leave them, just as
He never leaves our children who are missing, they will all be
restored to that beautiful garden one day…

Forbidden fruit

Oh fair Eve, the woman God gave Adam to be,
veiled in light and beauty to the eye.
A Voice was heard
“Of every tree in the garden you may eat
but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat”
Of the forbidden tree she crept
Not heeding the warning
plucking the fruit
in sorrow and tears she wept.
The once divine seed now a noxious weed.
Eternity ceased and time began
a cooling chill across the land.
The dove’s peaceful coo, now
her woeful cry too soon.
The wily serpent’s cloven
tongue, pricked her heart
breaking in two.
His sinister voice followed close behind
as she ran and ran,
Where was her dear Adam then?

Good day and good morning

To the world, and good evening to those
where your evening is beginning…

On this fifteenth day of August 2021

Number 7 in an ongoing series

A sunrise and a sunset never separates our world, for we are all together in one’

On this first day of a new week, prayers are lifted for our nation and our world.
For rest and peace, we all are seeking, coming apart from the chaos and
confusion, finding hope in the God of all creation!

“Hope is being able to see that there is light, despite all of the darkness”

Good evening

On this Sabbath ‘Eve

In just six days, earth hung
in space
Light brought forth life
To a darkened world
Then God looked at all He
had made
Meadows, trees and
little blue flowers, rivers,
streams and ocean seas
It was good, but it was quiet and
empty
Then God spoke, “Let the earth
bring forth living creatures”
and from the ground
animals roamed the
plains, valleys and hills
Then taking a handful of dust
and a scoop of clay
he created
man from a lifeless being
In six days God made heaven
and earth and on the seventh day
he rested from all he had made.

Greetings on this Friday evening

Number 4 in an ongoing series

NEEDS TO BE REWRITTEN And God gathered together the dry land, calling it Earth
and he spoke again and it brought forth grass and trees and little flowers of
blue and red
and the gathering of waters He called Seas making all together seven
and then God stepped back and spoke once more to an empty
sky, deciding to make two great lights dividing day from night

a great ball of light He flung, called sun as rays shone through to
the sun to rule by day and the moon by night.

The evening sky was lonely and empty
Then God drew the curtains aside,
hanging ornaments of stars reflecting their lights!

‘And the evening and morning were
the fourth day’

The Tamarack Fire

Markleeville General Store

A place of historical events beginning
in the early 1800’s

The Tamarack fire, started by a lightning strike in the
Mokelumne Wilderness, is fast approaching the small
town of Markleeville, Californiaa. A picturesue town
sitting in the foothills of the majestic Sierra’s, a stopping
place for travelers as they head up to the crest, on route
88.
Jacob Marklee founded this town in 1803.
Marklee died after being involved in a gunfight. Later
in the 1800’s part of this town was destroyed by fire,
and now once again is being threatened.

As a young person I had often hiked in this area of pristine beauty.
Many years later this little town would play a significant role in a very
small, but meaningful way. After the death of my son, I had been
living in California, and I had to make several trips over the mountains
on a crooked and winding road, and Markleeville was a place to stop
and rest, to pick up something to eat.

On this particular day, I was nearly blinded by tears, and when I
went up to the cash register,
the man questioned me and I told him of my loss. I reached for
my purse and he said no, and bid me well on my trip over the
mountain. Alone except for my two dogs, who were car sick over
much of the way, I was comforted by the act of kindness that made
my journey a little lighter.

Our prayers ascend for this charming little
town, may it be spared, continuing to bring its
cheer to many!

The midnight cry

“With wings of flight and trumpets
blowing”

“ON THE OPPOSITE SHORE OF ANOTHER LAND,
FOUR HORSEMEN ARE SADDLED”

Many times in our lives, we may not have been
aware, that we were protected and cared for
by angels, ever faithful, ministering to our
needs.
Angels visiting earth with folded wings,
weeping with tears for the things done
here, but ever returning, never forsaking their
calling.
And in the times we are living, angels have also
been given, riding on horses of might and fury,
bearing a message of soon coming events to
come upon us, of forewarning and love to all
who will listen!

“And I will show wonders in the heavens
and the earth…
The sun shall be turned to darkness, and
the moon into blood”

Joel 2:30

“And it shall come to pass that all
who call on the name of the Lord
shall be saved”

**Book of Joel chapter 2:32
